This is the same thing black creatives have been saying for years. Any time a non-white organizer makes a design event that doesn’t overlap with things we like, they are fighting against the great gravity of what we perceive as “popular” or “cutting edge” design.

It’s very easy as a white person to unintentionally isolate myself in a bubble of white-only designers and creatives.

In fact, I must actively seek out events and intentionally follow non-white creatives in order not to fall into that recommendation hole.
